About Dr. Jensen

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have provided counseling and psychotherapy, and consulting services for individuals, businesses and institutions for more than 25 years. Counseling and psychotherapy services for individuals 18 years or older are offered as well as family therapy as recommended. I have written grants on prevention of violence against women and developed programs, interventions, and crisis response. I provide consultation services for businesses and institutions in development of policy, intervention, or counseling resources. As a consultant, I have served the Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi to develop and implement programs responding to harassment and sexual exploitation of members of faith communities.

My professional interests include work with individuals in transitions such as grief and loss, mid-life issues, relationship changes, and identity issues. I provide brief therapy and long-term counseling depending on the diagnosis and needs of the client. Many clients I see for counseling may come in for a brief time, then years later experience emotional problems such as depression, trauma or grief and choose to come back in since we have an establishedtherapeutic relationship.

I believe that in order to be emotionally healthy, keeping a balance of emotional, physical and spiritual health is essential. A change in any of these three areas may trigger system dysfunction or maladaptive coping. My passion is therapy with individuals and families who are willing to work for change in relationships and to nurture growth as they develop new skills and ways of copying. Working in a therapeutic relationship can promote lifelong change.
